The MA5800-X2 features a standard 2U-high, 19-inch rack-mount design, measuring 442 mm x 268.7 mm x 88.1 mm and weighing only about 9.4 kg. Compared to larger models in the series, it can be easily installed in space-constrained indoor or outdoor cabinets, making it ideal for edge access or areas with low user density.
Despite being a compact device, it inherits the core distributed architecture of the MA5800 series, separating control and forwarding functions while delivering powerful single-slot performance.
The main control board offers a switching capacity of up to 480 Gbit/s, with a maximum bandwidth of 80 Gbit/s per service slot. It supports up to 32 GPON/EPON ports or 16 10G PON ports, sufficient to meet the bandwidth requirements of small- to medium-scale user bases.
Under ideal configuration, a single X2 unit can support approximately 2,000 households simultaneously streaming 4K video.
The MA5800-X2 supports a comprehensive range of access technologies (such as GPON, 10G PON, and P2P), enabling the unified delivery of services—including home broadband, enterprise dedicated lines, and mobile backhaul—on a single platform.
